Birdhouse Cabinet
I bought this pine birdhouse cabinet several years ago, and it was a storage cabinet in my son's room. Now it holds sewing supplies in my studio. I painted it with brown and dark grey chalk paint. Then I hand painted flowers from my garden. I tiled the roof, and the design and tiles were chosen only because I did not have a way to score and cut tiles, so they had to work with the sizes they already were. I'm not happy with the roof design.
I also would recommend that you paint the entire piece white before proceeding to paint flowers on, because the dark paint underneath made the resulting flowers very dull. The painting process was fun, but I changed my mind often and "erased" or painted over some flowers that I didn't like. I added charms to the top of the front of the birdhouse, giving it an eclectic, grotto vibe.
